Meet Pastor Ben

Welcome! My name is Ben, and this is my blog.

Here, you will find commentary on various biblical, theological, and cultural issues facing the Church today. I occasionally write on non-theological topics and share personal stories from my life. I hope you find my writings edifying, beneficial, encouraging, and challenging.

A Little About Me...

I have been married to Tera for 17 years, and we have 3 beautiful children. Two boys (12 and 9) and a little girl (6), and are expecting our fourth in May of 2025.

My hobbies include books and coffee (often together), hiking the Old North State, visiting and hiking State and National parks, and regular exercise.

I have served in vocational ministry for 16 years, and I currently serve as one of the Pastors of Theresa Baptist Church in Roxboro, NC.

I hold a Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Christian Studies from the College at Southeastern, a Master’s Degree (MA) in Ethics, Theology, and Culture from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate of Educational Ministry (D.Ed.Min) from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Currently, I am a PhD student at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC, studying Pastoral Theology. My research interests are in the areas of pastoral theology and religious power; specifically, the uses and abuses of power in religious contexts.

I hope you find the blog engaging and encouraging.

Blessings,

Pastor Ben
